OVERVIEW
The goal of developing this online toolkit is to enhance the quality and impact of training sessions for healthcare providers and staff.
By elevating their knowledge, attitudes, and skills, we aim to strengthen the provider-patient relationship and improve the overall quality of healthcare services. This initiative also focuses on addressing and reducing the health disparities faced by these communities, ensuring more equitable health outcomes.
THE CHALLENGE

The main challenge of this project was ensuring that the material was understandable to all who read it.

Working closely with the Policy & Advocacy team, we meticulously sorted through hundreds of white papers, resources, and exercises to curate interactive resources tailored to the needs of providers and their teams.
Pre-assessment training questions users are encouraged to answer prior to any training.

WIREFRAMING

This step was essential for mapping out the user experience, ensuring easy navigation, and providing a clear flow of information for healthcare professionals.

The wireframes prioritized accessibility and clarity, aligning with the toolkit’s goal of delivering LGBTQIA+ cultural competency training in a user-friendly format. These preliminary designs laid the foundation for the final interactive resources and overall toolkit functionality.

BRANDING

The goal was to create an identity that was not only inclusive but also visually engaging.

We drew inspiration from the original Whitman-Walker brand, ensuring consistency with their established reputation. The result was a dynamic and inclusive look that resonates with healthcare providers and the LGBTQIA+ community, emphasizing trust, equity, and cultural competence, all while staying true to Whitman-Walker’s core identity.
